Before: When we moved in seven years ago I was in a red phase.
I love red but it was time for it to go...
I love red but it was time for it to go...
After: The entire room was predicated on Samarkand from the Les Alizés collection for Brunschwig & Fils. I used this pattern for my color inspiration and pillows. I changed the wall color to a neutral beige.
This allows for artwork by Liza Matthews to pop off the wall and complement the bright pillows. I streamlined the window treatments with black iron rods and a neutral damask print by Duralee.
I have also hung of my youngest daughters artwork that is bright and colorful. This keeps the space cheery and not too serious.
The original black crackle finish chairs I found at a yard sale for $10 each and faux painted them myself. This time I found barrel back chairs at a local consignment shop and painted them glossy black and redid the chair seats in a Thibaut pink stripe.
I love my new office!
